About the Process & the Work:

As someone who struggles deeply with the changing seasons, the shorter days and the ever-fluctuating state of the human experience, I wanted to create a cohesive collection of work that would function as a light in that murky darkness. Inspired by the reflective rainbows made by sun catchers and light refraction on our walls and windows when the light hits just right, each piece is a conversation about light and it’s impact on our mood and emotions.

Each painting was carefully dreamed to life using custom made UV and phosphorescent pigments. The 6 smaller paintings are framed in custom painted wood frames that are equipped with an LED lighting system that connects to your Alexa or Google home device, has 16 million colors options and syncs to your music for an interactive light experience. The larger paintings are unframed but each is backlit with the same LED lighting system. Each painting also comes with a UV flashlight that can be used to reveal a secret painting that illuminates in the dark.

The idea is you turn on your painting illumination, grab your UV flashlight, your secret playlist and dance with your painting, revealing new colors and textures depending on your movement and proximity to the painting. Yes, each painting also comes with a secret playlist created just for that painting.

Each painting (aside “Portal” which only has one print size option) has an option for two different sizes for Giclee paper print reproductions, 13x19” and 11x14”, Each print is limited edition with only 10 of each available. Each print is also phosphorescent and UV friendly and comes with a mini UV flashlight. Unframed.
